Marian Pierre-Louis, the principal researcher
for Fieldstone Historic Research, is a genealogical researcher,
instructor, lecturer and writer. She is
involved in many aspects of family history from genealogy to
oral history, identifying
old photographs and house histories.
Marian has a broad range of genealogical experience performing
primarily U.S. and some limited British and Canadian research.
However, her area of expertise focuses on
Southern
New England
research
which includes the states of Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut.
Particular research interests include the 19th century industrial
revolution and its mill workers as well as African Americans
in New
England.
Marian is very active in the genealogical community in New England.
She is the secretary for the New England Chapter of the
Association of Professional Genealogists (NEAPG).
She is the Publicity Chair for the New England Regional Genealogical
Conference
2009 (NERGC). Marian is also
the Publicity Chair for the Massachusetts Society of Genealogists
(MSOG), Middlesex
Chapter. On the national level, she is currently the Public Information
Officer for the
Association
of Professional Genealogists (APG).
Marian frequently teaches genealogy classes for community
education programs around Norfolk County, Massachusetts. When
not teaching she speaks at historical societies and genealogical

Giving Back
Marian Pierre-Louis appreciates all the help she has had over
the years tracing her own family
history from both helpful strangers
and newly found distant cousins. In order to pay it forward, she
contributes her volunteer time to help others in need. Marian
does pro bono (limited) research for people with Medway,
Massachusetts ancestry. Her work is done
through the Medway
